3-Gbit/s crosspoint switch has 290 channels

The GX3290 290 x 290 crosspoint switch is said to be the industry’s largest and handles 3.5 bits/s to support next-generation video formats such as 3Gb/s/HD, 3D, and UltraHD. The switch consumes just 34 W with all channels active and 1 W in standby.

The 50 x 50-mm BGA packaged chips eight update enable pins allow users to partition and independently update signals, reducing programming and switching time. The IC features a pattern generator and checker to test and diagnose signal issues on the input or output side of system, along with a real-time eye monitor for visibility to optimize system performance.
