The ADV7181DBCPZ-RL is a high quality, single-chip, multiformat videodecoder and graphics digitizer. This multiformat decoder supportsthe conversion of PAL, NTSC, and SECAM standards in the formof composite or S-Video into a digital ITU-R BT.656 format.
The ADV7181DBCPZ-RL also supports the decoding of a componentRGB/YPrPb video signal into a digital YCrCb or RGB pixeloutput stream. Support for component video includes standardssuch as 525i, 625i, 525p, 625p, 720p, 1080i, and many other HDand SMPTE standards.
Graphics digitization is also supported by the ADV7181D; it iscapable of digitizing RGB graphics signals from VGA to XGArates and converting them into a digital DDR RGB or YCrCbpixel output stream. SCART and overlay functionality are enabledby the ability of the ADV7181DBCPZ-RL to simultaneously process CVBSand standard definition RGB signals. The mixing of these signalsis controlled by the fast blank (FB) pin.
The ADV7181DBCPZ-RL contains two main processing sections. Thefirst section is the standard definition processor (SDP), whichprocesses all PAL, NTSC, and SECAM signal types. The secondsection is the component processor (CP), which processes YPrPband RGB component formats, including RGB graphics.
The ADV7181DBCPZ-RL has unique software and hardware configurationrequirements.
